In addition, we work on the continuous improvement of the nutritional profile of our products, in line with the NAOS strategy (Nutrition, Physical Activity and Prevention of Obesity) of the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare for the improvement of the composition of foods 2017 -2020. Reducing sugar, salt and fats in foods is among the specific objectives of this strategy that Congalsa adheres to.

Veggie products

The consumption of vegan products increased by 27% in the last two years, according to the study The Green Revolution. More and more consumers of all ages avoid animal origin products, a diet identified by many as healthier. 64% of the veggie public is female and 15% of people between 18 and 24 years old chooser this diet.

The celiac community increases. Although it is estimated that 1% of the population is gluten intolerant, 400,000 new cases are diagnosed each year in Spain. Additionally, according to the surveys of the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU), 10% avoids gluten because it believes it is a healthier option. Few days ago, on the occasion of the Intermational Day of Celiac Disease, associations of patients complained about the overpricing of these goods, but also how complex it is to find gluten-free  dishes and with guarantees.
